What is Destination Imagination?
 Destination ImagiNation®
is a creative problem-solving program
that teaches children relevant life skills in an atmosphere of fun
and camaraderie.
The foundation of Destination
ImagiNation®
is a school and community-based "Team
Challenges" program. Each year, Destination ImagiNation®
publishes five mind-boggling
challenges that are specifically designed to appeal to a variety of
children's' interests.
The challenges may be technical,
historical, theatrical or comedic in nature, but all have in common
the opportunity for kids to work together creatively to develop a
unique solution.
The highlight of the program year
is a series of performance-oriented tournaments, where the teams
present their solutions and vie for the chance to go to an annual
worldwide championship tournament called the Global Finals.

The Score Reports
- Total: The final total score.
- Central: The scaled central
challenge score.
- ScaWgt: The scaled weight
held.
- Side: The scaled side trip
score.
- Instant: The scaled instant
challenge score.
- Ded: The deductions
assessed, if any.
- RwCent.: The total of the
raw central challenge scores as assigned by the appraisers.
- OffWgt: Official weight
held (the sum of the metal weights supported by the Structure during
testing, plus 10 pounds for the Pressure Board, plus any Bonus Points
awarded).
- RwSide: The total of the
raw side trip scores as assigned by the appraisers.
- RwInst: The raw instant
challenge score as assigned by the appraisers.
