| Juvenile diabetes is also known as
type I insulin dependant diabetes. This is severe diabetes mellitus with
an early onset in children. Some of the warning signs of juvenile
diabetes are: excessive thirst and increased appetite, weight loss,
frequent urination, sudden vision changes, sugar in the urine,
fruity, sweet, or wine-like odor on the breath, drowsiness, lethargy,
heavy breathing, stupor, unconsciousness, and episodic ketoacidosis.
Treatment of juvenile diabetes
Juvenile diabetes requires a strict diet, regular
exercise and insulin injections on a daily basis in order to control the
blood sugar levels.
